Lead PAM Operative and MMO during a 2d hi-res seismic site survey in the Black Sea, off the coast of Romania. Responsibilities included setup and operation of a Seiche Fireface 800 PAM system using PAMGuard Beta 1.12, followed by report writing and GIS. Over 70 acoustic detections of common and bottlenose dolphin were made during the 5 week cruise.

Environmental scientist on board for a ROV survey to map features of conservation interest – including soft corals and deep-water sponge aggregations – around a proposed well site. Online work included direction of ROV pilot and real-time logging and analysis of video footage including species identification and assessment of feature health; offline work involved detailed analysis and QC of captured data and preparation of data for entry into Global Mapper software.

Environmental scientist on board for site survey off Norway. The job involved onboard analysis and interpretation of MBES and SSS data using Global Mapper software to plan ROV dive sites for protected habitats, primarily Lophelia coral structures and sponge communities.

Lead environmental scientist in charge of environmental operations including water sampling using Niskin bottles and a Valeport Midas 606 + multiparamter CTD system, during a Site survey offshore of Malongo in Cabinda Province (Angola). Duties also included Marine Mammal Observer (MMO) during seismic operations.

Environmental scientist on board for EBS for pipeline rejuvenation project off the Gabonese coast. The job involved deployment of a Day grab and a Kongsberg 0E14-208 camera system, processing of grab samples and video data, water sampling and partial demobilisation of the environmental equipment.

The job involved deployment of a dual van Veen grab and a DTS 6000 deep water camera system, processing of all grab samples and video data, writing of draft reports and partial demobilisation of the environmental equipment.

Lead environmental scientist and MMO in charge of mobilizing, designing and conducting an EBS, habitat assessment and marine mammal mitigation program for three proposed oil well sites in the Atlantic Ocean, offshore of Morocco in 1000 m of water depth. This job involved the use of the DTS 6000 sub-sea camera system, a dual van Veen grab and 0.1m2 Box Corer.

Lead environmental scientist in charge of mobilizing, designing and conducting an EBS and habitat assessment of a proposed oil well site, offshore of Malta. This job involved the use of the DTS 6000 sub-sea camera system, a dual van -Veen grab and a Sea Bird Electronics 9 Plus CTD system, mounted on a 10 bottle rosette. Sediment and water samples alongside high resolution stills and video were obtained in over 500 m depth.

Lead environmental scientist on a proposed rig site survey in Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Responsibilities included: Collation and analysis of acoustic data (SSS and MBES), preparation of a habitat assessment strategy, acquisition of video footage and still photographs (using the SES underwater video and stills camera system), analysis of data (photographic ID of macrofauna) and compilation of the field report.

Environmental scientist and MMO on a pipeline route site survey. Responsibilities included; collation and analysis of acoustic data including side scan sonar (SSS) and multibeam bathymetry (MBES), habitat assessment analysis using still photographs obtained using the AUV system Hugin 1000 and a DTS 6000 camera system, composition of an appropriate environmental baseline survey (EBS) using a twin 0.1m2 van-Veen grab.
